Here’s a brief snippet of what our Smethwick Neighbourhood Team have been up to this week:
What’s been happening
-Smethwick Town officers have had 2 vehicles stopped, occupants had in their possession class c and class b drugs. Officers offered diversionary referrals and persons have been dealt with accordingly for these offences.
-Smethwick town officers have had 1 arrest of a suspect for failing to appear at court.
-Our local neighbourhood town police officers have had 6 stop and searches regarding drug related intelligence.
-Smethwick town police officers have had 3 vehicles seized for no insurance and drivers reported to court for document offences.
-Police officers for our local neighbourhood area have conducted patrols in our burglary hotspots and offence locations they have been patrolled and targeted patrols have been on-going.
-Smethwick town PCSO’s have conducted a school talk in Galton Valley primary school talking to the children in reception about stranger danger and what the police do to help our local communities and how we support our communities
-Local neighbourhood policing team PCSO’s conducted a Cuppa with a Copper at the brass house and had a positive outcome supporting our locals in relation to several different Anti-Social Behaviour matters. People who attended were happy with the support given a felt reassured.
-Smethwick town PCSO’s conducted a police input at our local community centre the Brass House and gave advice to the local community who attended in relation to burglary advice for safety around the house and how to keep our properties and our person safe of crime prevention information. Everyone who attended left with some useful information felt reassured and praised the PCSO‘s who delivered this program.
-Smethwick town officers have visited St Albans in St Pauls to offer reassurance and to build good partnerships working together, due to this being a place of warmth and as winter is fast approaching the temperature dropping so we are ensuring there is support available.
-Our local officers have visited Greggs at the hawthorns offering reassurance visits to support our local businesses moving on anyone who might be conducting aggressive begging and offering them support where needed. Local businesses were pleased with the support that we were offering.
-Local officers have been conducting hi viz foot patrols of Cape Hill and Dudley Road high street also Bearwood high Street talking to our local businesses and communities reassuring all the locals, local businesses were happy to see foot patrols taking place in their local areas.
